My two oldest daughters and I went for a quick, evening outing to see if we could get any photos. It was a nice time together out by the lake and on some of the back roads we take to get there.
I liked the colorful water in this shot. This is not an HDR photo. I used a little pop of onboard flash to make the grass render in color instead of a black silhouette.
This bumblebee was crawling all over the flowers along the shoreline. I’m not sure what kind of plant this is but it sure is pretty and makes for a nice image. Macro in low-light is challenge. This shot required ISO 4500 in order to hold a shutter speed fast enough to stop the motion of the wind, the bee, and me. The D600 handles high ISO so well. This is another shot made using the Nikon PK-13 extension tube with a Nikon 50mm f/1.4 lens.
This old abandoned house sits just off the road out by the lake. We stopped for a minute to grab a few photos.
This was just a quick grab from earlier in the day. I like how it turned out.
And that’s all for now.
