A Lazy Day

There’s not a lot going on today.  I was supposed to have been flying out for work but a last minute schedule change led to me canceling my flight.   Always glad to get some extra days at home with my family, I decided to grab the camera and head out to the front yard where the kids were playing.

What better way to spend an afternoon than swinging on a tire swing?

Floyd, having a nap under the trees, opens his eyes just enough to signal to me that I’m being rude by not using Silent Shutter mode on the camera.

My littlest daughter, relaxing with Mom as they watch the other youngins playing in the yard.

Some of the kids taking a break, sitting on the Slack Line stretched between the big oaks.  Yes, he’s in his pajamas – we came home from the store and he thought they would be more comfortable than the shorts and t-shirt he was wearing.  Who cares, right?  They get washed the same as everything else.  Kids…

After everyone got dirty and sweaty, it was time to come inside for baths and dinner.  My littlest girl plays in the crib for a few minutes while Mom gets the rest of the clan settled in.

I didn’t have an opportunity to get photos of the rest of the kids but I’m glad I at least got what I did.  Years from now, I’ll be able to look at these and fondly recall days like this.

  1. Thanks Dana! The kids are so used to having a camera around them that it hardly goes noticed anymore. That’s when I like shooting the most; they’re off in their own world doing what they’re doing and I get a clean shot of the moment.
