Anchorage: The B-Roll Photos

I often go through my photos too quickly after returning from a shoot and, as a result, I wind up missing some keepers.  This evening, I started going back through those images from the day I went exploring around the outskirts of Anchorage and have managed to squeeze out a few more images I’d like to share with you.  I’m not finished scouring but I figured I’ll at least post the two I’ve worked on so far.

I really like this one.  Did you notice how the rocks and shoreline in the foreground almost perfectly match the contour of the mountains and their reflection?  I wasn’t too sure when I shot it if it would be noticeable but I think with the right processing it is made to be a little more obvious.  I originally posted this as a black and white image to help bring out the shapes but I much prefer it like this, in color.

  1. Beautiful…. did you happen to see the area on the edge of downtown Anchorage- where the ground just dropped away during an earthquake in 1964?? Pretty amazing.
